ABOUT JENNIFER LANGTON

Most recently, as Senior Vice President of Player Health and Innovation at the NFL, Jennifer spearheaded groundbreaking advancements in athlete safety and performance, setting a new standard in football that will impact other sports and industries. She developed the league’s first injury reduction strategy, assembled a world-class multi-disciplinary team, and created the “Digital Athlete”, utilizing AI to transform injury prediction and prevention.  Her notable achievements include a strategic partnership with AWS and implementing a $60 million Engineering Roadmap focused on enhancing helmet safety, which led to position-specific helmets, the lowest number of concussions recorded during the 2021 season, and a 25% reduction in concussions sustained over multiple years.

In the earlier stages of her NFL career, Jennifer was Vice President of Finance for Business Ventures, where she played a crucial role in securing essential revenue agreements and spearheaded international expansion. Notably, she was instrumental in negotiating a $1 billion deal for NFL Apparel rights, which achieved a remarkable 99% increase in value and 84% growth in the first year. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in launching the first successful two-game series in London.  

Prior to her roles at the NFL, Jennifer was the Chief Financial Officer for North America at Atari, where she built and implemented a transformative strategic plan that restored profitability for a $150 million business. This comprehensive plan included company restructuring, a merger transaction, and the establishment of new licensing deals. She has also held various finance leadership positions across media, marketing, advisory, and law firms. 

 Jennifer holds an MBA from NYU Stern and an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, where she excelled as a Division One athlete on the Women’s Lacrosse team.  In 2020, she was honored on National Girls and Women in Sports Day for “Breaking Down Barriers” as a UVA Women’s Lacrosse athlete. Recently, she joined the board of UVA’s School of Data Science, highlighting her commitment to innovation and leadership.  Additionally, she established the Jennifer Langton Bicentennial Scholars Fund at UVA to support a deserving young female lacrosse student-athlete.

Jennifer has also been recognized by AWS as a distinguished leader for her transformative contributions to the NFL. In 2022, she was celebrated at AWS’s first North America-wide women’s event as one of the “Women of the Cloud” and named in AWS’s Power Players Series as one of ten female innovators delivering breakthrough technology in their industries.  

 Most recently, she appeared on CNBC’s AI Evolve and FOX Business, discussing the technological revolution she has spearheaded in the NFL and its potential impact on sports and other industries.
