John Ellis is an expert in new and emerging transportation technology, and how it is changing the way cities, airports, and transportation authorities manage our public spaces. He is an engineer, software developer, and business development veteran with more than 25 years of experience.
John works with public agencies to help them prepare for and manage the rapid influx of technology in the transportation sector. As a former executive at Motorola and Global Technologist at Ford Motor Company, John led or participated in teams that built many of the innovations we see today in connected vehicles on the ground and in the air. Since then, he has helped cities and organizations understand how technology is affecting the way they operate our streets, sidewalks, and curbs, now and into the future.
For the past 24 years, John has been the managing director of Ellis & Associates, the management consulting firm he founded in 1997. Originally established as a boutique training firm focused on international business and culture, the firm now serves clients in the world where automotive, consumer, connectivity and software intersect.
John served as an adjunct professor at Notre Dame University teaching financial math to Executive MBA students from 2002-2010 as well as a translator in the 1992 Summer Olympics.
