ABOUT NESA BRAUER
With over four decades of experience in education, Nesa Brauer has cultivated a distinguished career at the intersection of teaching, leadership development, and adult learning. A respected trainer and longtime educator, Nesa spent 16 years with the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB), where she developed and delivered training for school board members at the local, regional, and national levels.
As lead conference planner for the IASB/IASA/IASBO Joint Annual Conference, Nesa was responsible for researching, scheduling, and managing over 120 educational sessions per year—while also presenting at National School Board Conferences and Trainer Summits. Her creative approach to professional development included scripting, hiring, and supervising video productions to enhance workshop delivery.
Before joining IASB, Nesa served for more than 30 years as a Health & Physical Education Instructor at Havana High School, where she influenced generations of students with her energy, compassion, and commitment to whole-person learning.
Nesa is certified in The Bob Pike Train the Trainer, The 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity, Crucial Conversations, and is a trained Diversity & Inclusion Facilitator through the Kaleidoscope Group. She has also completed extensive instruction in curriculum design, data-driven leadership, and effective communication for educational teams.
