ABOUT SEAN MITTON

Think about a moment in time that shaped the way you see the world. A moment that brought people together, ignited a sense of purpose, or changed the course of history—even if just for those who lived it. Maybe it was a championship game, a groundbreaking innovation, a cultural movement, or a shared victory that transcended borders.

For Sean Mitton, that moment was the 1972 Summit Series—often called Canada’s version of the Miracle on Ice. The legendary goal by Paul Henderson was voted the 5th Greatest Moment in Canadian history at the turn of the century. But this wasn’t just about hockey; it was a story of culture, connection, and resilience. For the 40th anniversary, Sean collected over 200 stories from people across Canada about where they were and what that moment meant to them. It was a rare example of a shared national memory, leading him to ask: How can we create that same sense of connection and unity within our organizations?

That journey inspired Sean to develop the Student of the Game Mindset—a framework rooted in curiosity, preparation, and continuous learning. Whether in business, leadership, or personal growth, the lessons from defining moments remind us that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about mindset, adaptability, and how we bring people together. By using more of our brain through tools like Mind Mapping and AI for Intentional Learning, we can create a proven formula for career preparation, confidence, and success.

With over 20 years of experience in technology, sales, and leadership, Sean has created more than 1,000 mind maps to help individuals and organizations improve strategic thinking, problem-solving, and innovation. As the founder of the Canadian Expat Network and author of three books—The Goal That United Canada, When Canada Shut Down, and The Student of the Game Mindset—he has explored the power of storytelling, leadership, and continuous learning in shaping careers and cultures.
