Jenette is a motivational speaker, trainer and coach through her company, Key Light Consulting. She has a BFA and MBA from the University of Illinois and worked in New York and Los Angeles as a performer, director, producer and writer. She also has over 20 years’ experience in property management and commercial real estate. She now uses her background in theatre and her business experience to teach professionals how to shine in any presentation or performance setting.
Jenette is the National Director of The She Said Project, producing live shows called “That’s What She Said” and host of The She Said Project Podcast. She created and runs a program for teen girls called “That’s What Teens Say.” She is an avid volunteer who has served on many boards, is a past president of the Junior League of Champaign-Urbana and currently serves as President of The Family Room, the nonprofit she co-founded to provide resources and comfort to foster families in her community.
In 2024, Jenette was named Champaign-Urbana’s “Remarkable Woman” by Nexstar Media Group and shared her story on the TEDxNormal Stage. She was also honored with an “Innovation” Award by the Central Illinois Communications Association and a “Distinguished Legacy” Award by the College of Fine and Applied Arts at Illinois for using theatre to build a national platform to empower women and teen girls. Jenette resides in Champaign with her rocket scientist husband and 2 young daughters.
Jenette is a dynamic storyteller and offers interactive exercises that create experiential learning for her audiences. She has presented for organizations big and small, from intimate workshops of 10 to zoom calls of thousands.
