Women Who Lead
This month we are excited to celebrate Women in Leadership, and our September events calendar is filled with incredible women stepping onto stages, leading conversations and pouring into organizations across the country.
Patricia Woertz
Women and leadership has always been an important part of my own professional journey. During my corporate career at ADM, I had the privilege of working under Patricia Woertz, the company’s first female CEO. At the time, that was a big deal, particularly in agriculture.
Fittingly, 2026 has been designated the International Year of the Woman Farmer, recognizing the leadership, resilience and essential contributions of women throughout agriculture. Sarah Frey, CEO and Founding Farmer of Frey Farms, is a wonderful example of these female farmers. And while agriculture will always be near and dear to me, this conversation is much bigger than one industry.
Christine Cashen opened with the energy, humor and practical wisdom that have made her a Hall of Fame speaker, helping behavioral health professionals and leaders laugh, learn and walk away with real-life strategies for managing stress and protecting their wellness and I also treasured some time off stage with Christine!
Susan Stewart
Susan Stewart closed out the IARF Conference on Friday with her signature blend of humor, heart and practical wisdom. Susan takes the important topic of mental health and makes it approachable, relatable and even fun, reminding audiences that caring for ourselves doesn’t have to feel like one more thing on our to-do list. Her message was the perfect way to send attendees home feeling lighter, encouraged and better equipped to take care of themselves and those around them.
